U.S. Women's Chamber of Commerce Chooses Voxwire for Its Web Conferencing and Virtual Town Hall Meetings
For Immediate Release
February 24, 2004
Washington DC - Margot Dorfman, CEO of the U.S. Women's Chamber of Commerce (USWCC) announced today that they have chosen Voxwire as their Internet meeting provider. "We have trademarked and launched our Virtual Town Hall™ series which uses Voxwire as the meeting technology. The USWCC is making our large world a bit smaller and our collective voice tremendously stronger and clearer through this revolutionary system of meeting, talking, sharing and strategizing. We see the Virtual Town Hall™ uniting and strengthening the women's marketplace in a way that hasn't been possible before."
The U.S. Women's Chamber of Commerce™ is the pre-eminent national women's chamber of commerce network whose mission is to develop leaders, accelerate economic growth and provide a community voice for women. The USWCC, a not-for-profit 501(c)6 organization founded in 2001, is growing through regional affiliates, councils and strategic alliances across the USA. Creating and representing the next generation of leadership for women, the USWCC is women's connection to influence, education, opportunity and advancement. Its headquarters are in Washington, D.C.
The USWCC is using their Voxwire room to launch the National Women's Lobby™ which gives a unified voice to the hundreds of organizations representing women in America. "Voxwire technology allows us to reach quickly and deeply to the leaders and communities of women who are ready to work as one on broad political issues like small business growth, health care, education and opportunity," explains Dorfman. "We are forming partnerships with established organizations to offer members of these groups a new and value-added USWCC association membership, and build the scale it requires to raise the influence of women in the business and political marketplace."
Terry Williams, President of the USWCC recently announced an initiative to meet with an estimated 10,000 women to discuss solutions for protecting and accelerating economic growth for women. "The USWCC National Women's Town Hall Series™ will bring business and community leaders together in online discussions, polls and focus groups to clearly outline women's economic opportunities and challenges, culminating in the creation of the first-ever USWCC National Women's Economic Agenda™."
Jill Van Dierendonck, media coordinator for the USWCC and owner of a communications business, stated, "We wanted to find a convenient and cost-effective way to invite members to interact with business experts on topics that enable all of us to take a leap forward in our businesses and careers. We have done this in the past using physical meetings. But they are too expensive and too difficult to schedule, so valuable and timely communication is missed. Voxwire makes it possible for us to meet regularly and to widen the participation to all of our members and leaders throughout the United States, and to include leaders from other parts of the world at no additional cost."
Van Dierendonck continued, "Voxwire's web-conferencing also provides the opportunity for us to attract special guests. We were honored to have Democratic Presidential Candidate, Carol Moseley Braun, join us on February 11. She shared formative events in her life, her passion for public service, and future plans. This could not have happened without Voxwire because of her busy schedule. The technology worked flawlessly, and she was very impressed with it. The voice quality is better than the telephone."
The USWCC holds three or four meetings using the Voxwire meeting room every week that feature many guests on subjects such as, Women and Leadership, Business Strategies, Q & A, and "Open Mic" twice a month.
Voxwire rooms can be configured as small as a two-person capacity, or large meetings of several hundred. Rooms can be branded with a custom name, a printed welcome message that greets guests by name, and any web page that the owner of the room chooses for the internal browser. These and many other pre-sets can be changed as often as desired using an online configuration control panel. Rooms can be used for collaboration, training, business meetings, board meetings, intercom communication for large organizations spread out across a city or all over the world. Features include co-browsing, slide showing, and instant polling of large audiences. Guests can line up to speak in the auto-queue, and the microphone can be timed for automated discussions and debates that give everyone equal time.
Voxwire is the premier supplier of online voice meeting room technology. With a computer, internet connection, and microphone, a person can click into an online "room" and speak to anyone in the world and show them visual screens at the same time. Pricing is based on low monthly flat-rates for unlimited usage.
Steve Divnick, Vice President of Marketing for Voxwire says, "We are honored that the U.S. Women's Chamber of Commerce has chosen us for their conferencing needs. With our state-of-the-art clear voice quality, co-browsing visual tools, text chat, polling, and ease-of-use, we are committed to providing the power and flexibility that the USWCC needs to rapidly expand their service to professional women and the broader business and political marketplace."
